| Arkansas State Senator Larry Teague Arkansas Senate District 20 |

| Larry Teague I was born in Nashville, Arkansas and graduated from Nashville High School in 1976. I attended the University of Arkansas and Texarkana Community College. Before coming home in 1985 to join our family independent insurance agency, Teague and Teague Insurance, I was an assistant manager for Skaggs Alpha Beta in Texarkana. Herschell, my dad, died of lung cancer in 2004 leaving me to run Teague and Teague Insurance. Debbie and I have been married for 26 years. We were married on July 4th, 1981. Both of our children are products of public education and are graduates of Nashville High School. Larry, Jr. is 25 years old and just graduated from the University of Central Arkansas. Shelly is 20 and is attending Henderson State University. My mother, Cay and my grandmother, Louise (90) live in Nashville and my grandmother Johnnie (91) lives in Mineral Springs. Debbie is the Howard County Assessor and is a graduate of Liberty-Eylau in Texarkana. We attend First United Methodist Church in Nashville, Arkansas. I teach Sunday School, I am a Lay Speaker and the unofficial dishwasher at church potlucks. I began my public service as an Alderman (City Councilman) in Nashville serving from 1989-1994. In 1997 I was elected State Representative and served through 2002 when I left office because of term limits. Senator Jim Hill served as President Pro Tempore in the Senate 2003 – 2004. During the 2003 Session I served as his assistant. Because of that service I already have a good base knowledge of the Senate, it’s rules, personnel and a good working relationship with the Senators themselves. The incoming President Pro Tempore, Bob Johnson, was my Speaker of the House during the 82nd General Assembly. The knowledge gained from working for Senator Hill, the working relationships with the Senators along with my experience in the House of Representatives will allow me to immediately go to work and to be productive as I represent you as your State Senator. |
